I am a contractor. My Pfizer and laptop have lost their screens. I can see the mouse pointer and the volume indicator, but nothing else. Can someone help me, please?

The error you encounter relates to an application that's preventing the desktop to start. There is also another cause related to a hardware device (HDD).
Press CTRL + SHift + Escape. Switch to Processes tab. Locate Explorer and press on End Task. Then go to File > New and type explorer.exe.
The hard drive has BAD sectors which means you will have to replace them. The black screen and mouse issue is often caused by a bad HDD drive.
